Talked to a few more people who currently commute from Marina > South Bay. They leave by 7 AM or wait until 9 AM. Sounds like 280 drivers push the pedal to the limit!

Hi There,

I'm considering a new job in the South Bay in Hillsborough BUT I live in Emeryville. To avoid the morning/evening traffic. What time would you recommend leaving Emeryville in the AM and returning in PM?

I'd appreciate your response to this. It would be really helpful.

Emeryville to Hillsborough and back is not tha bad on 280 but can be painful on the bridge and getting through DT SF.

Leaving early in the morning is a good idea but bay bridge traffic has been getting worse so I dont think u can avoid it going home, but at least you get off right in Emeryville and wont have to endure the East Bay's hellacious traffic.

Hillsborough is not South Bay, it's Peninsula, much closer to SF than to Silicon Valley

If you have an extra beater, you can take BART to Daly City and drive the rest of the way. It's OK to leave a car overnight as long as it's not over 24 hours during the week. You can even leave it there all weekend.
