All I can say is, show me the money. Anything short of that is a mere fantasy.

NFL is doing more than merely "suggesting" the idea.

I don't think the city of Santa Clara would want the Raiders. It does not exactly bring along the best image for the city.

I don't think Santa Clara would say no to increased revenue.

The Raiders would be declining to play in Santa Clara, obviously.

That's not the location that would bring about a move from both teams. If anything, I think the 49ers would have to play in the East Bay.

Yeah, but I don't see that going anywhere. The Niners are set on Santa Clara and they'll be beginning construction in 2013. I don't see the cities of either Oakland or SF stepping up to help fund a stadium in either city.

The Raiders should move back down to LA.

Your other statements are rational (although, funding is going to be SF's biggest problem in SC, not the idea). This one isn't.

If you're not a Raiders fan, you're not from L.A., you're not from Oakland, and you're not hip to the politics of either, or the fact that Al Davis isn't selling his stock in the team (meaning, no dice on the new L.A. stadium deal), why would you say this?

For the last time, they're not moving to L.A.!

I wonder what 49er fans would say if each time the Niners were a topic of discussion in getting a new stadium, everyone in the East Bay said, "You know, they should move to San Antonio." I'm going to try it.

Parti Rhinoceros already touched on this and I concur with him.

The city of Santa Clara would have twice the tax revenue from 2 NFL teams playing there. The windfall for city coffers could be substantial.

Especially since the NFL plays only a handful of games each year.

Only the most foolish city council would be opposed to that.

Nothing is set in stone, not even the Santa Clara stadium.

So now, it is revealed that The City of Santa Clara will shoulder a $ 0.85B debt to pay for this debacle. Lots of rabble liked to shout "Bush lied!" - I shout "politicians bought and paid for by the 49er Mafia lied!"
