Hi All - I am moving to work at Foster City from the mid west. I am looking to rent at the following places San Mateo, Belmont and Redwood City. My budget is about 1800. After some research found a few appartments that seem reasonable..

1. Madison Place Appts in San Mateo
2. 2 Clark Drive Appts in San Mateo
3. Samson Appts in Redwood City

Are these in decent neighbourhoods, can anyone with an idea please advise?

Also any other places you can think of which I can look at...

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Try this one in San Carlos:
Laurel Theater Apartments : 1500 Laurel Street San Carlos, CA 94070 650-279-3780 - San Carlos Apartments

Nice, safe location downtown with a Trader Joes amd Walgreens a block away.

Light industrial areas have autoshops, paint stores, etc. mixed in. They may not necessarily be bad areas but they may not look so nice. If you are looking for 1BR apartments, I'd recommend checking out Belmont (where I'm currently living) west of El Camino. Here's an app that pinpoints apts for rent on craigslist: Apartment for Rent - $1325 - Downtown walk San Carlos (Foster-City, California) - PadMapper
Look at Foster City or anything west of El Camino from RWC on up to San Mateo.
