Any suggestions for shore fishing or a good place to catch some Halibut?

Supposedly there is a chance to catch halibut certain times of the year from the piers at Santa Cruz. But I've never tried it. You can find information here at the SF Bay Area fishing website:

Tomales Bay for Halibut. Its where I've had luck in the past.

My brother in law fishes for them in the San Pablo Bay.

I'm not sure which time of year he usually goes, but this past Easter he had tons of it-- grilled and wrapped in bacon...yum.

I've pulled in Halibut at the Berkeley Pier but not often. Usually Flounder is the flat fish I used to get there.
