Sounds good to me, the seats are disgusting. And hopefully they keep replacing the floors with vinyl, the trains that have the vinyl floors are always sooooo much cleaner and nicer to ride, they always have cleaner new cloth seats too. Any trains that still have the gross carpets always also have really dirty cloth seats. It's gross to put up with every day and, along with the underlit stations, really puts forward a bad image of the Bay Area to visitors and tourists. These new vinyl seats are actually cheaper than the gross cloth seats so it's a no-brainer.

Awww, I enjoyed the ever-changing, diverse colors and odors that greeted unsuspecting riders on those trains. A new surprise for every ride!

not to mention more hygenical....perhaps if they kept the padding but made the seats vinyl that would have been a better option.

But one bad thing -- it will be noiser. All the carpet and seating muffled noise.....

Overall, a much needed change - as a longtime BART rider, I found the carpets beyond gross on many of the cars. I never understood how some riders seemed to view these as some sort of "pleasant" luxury that would be given up.

I was also glad to see that the system is buying a couple of hundred new train cars using surplus dollars. Hopefully the new floors and covers can help keep BART's investment looking good.

Heh I remember when I would talk about how filthy bart was before the articles came out. Everyone was all "you're a troll". Now everyone is all yea, bart, clean, great, it's about time. Once the lab coats came in and started testing stuff I provided the story, IN APRIL.

What the hell are you talking about? Not a single post in that thread called you a troll and everyone actually agreed with you. Find me one post in that thread where someone called you out for being a troll. Did you even bother to look through that thread before re-posting it and accusing people of having called you a troll?

Cloth seats on public transportation? Are they insane ? Ours (GCRTA) have always been vinyl.
