With the NFL starting next week, I am looking for the replacement of a place called Damons back east. Basically its a bar/restaurant with tvs all around. At each table is a speaker in which allows you to tune into the game you want to hear.

Does anyone know anything like this in the east bay (walnut creek oakland or in the city)

thanks

I've never seen anything like that in the Bay Area.

Default sports bars

The only big sports bars I'm familiar with that are still open are Kezar pub in the Haight, and Ricky's in San Leandro. I've never heard of any place having speakers at tables. I'm sure there are many more that I don't know about, also there was a great one on Union st. called Baysider, but it went out of business, not sure if its been reopened under new mgt or not.

There's sports bars all over the place but most bars here are pretty small. I went to the Pyramid brewpub in Berkeley to watch the NBA finals earlier this year and a guy there asked the waitress if they could turn the sound on for one of the TV's and she told him something like legally they couldn't, has anyone heard of a rule like that or was she just making it up? Would be nice if bars would turn on the sound but then you'd have like 10 different games on with different commentary, and if the crowd is really raucous you can't hear anything anyway.

I'll go with the Kezar too. No speakers but they have all of the games on.

I've yet to find a proper sports bar here like you get back home on the East Coast.
That would be a great find if there was one.

The pizza place by Walmart (in that shopping center by Starbucks) in Oakland has tables with individual TVs and cable or Direct TV at each table.

If one wants everything to himself while watching the game, then why leave the living room? Sports bar is supposed to be a communal experience.
