In fact, the mayor of Oakland Michelle Kwan, besides being a hecka of a figure skater, was a 60's radical. That is why she went along with the initial protests so meekly. She was with them! Now that she is being recalled, she has decided that maybe she should protect her constitutes and not the great unwashed crowd. It will be so interesting to see how this plays out!
Um, you're joking, right? Michelle Kwan isn't the mayor of Oakland.

As someone else mentioned, Jean Quan is. I know they all look alike, but, really, it's two different people.

The solution to this is simple.

Deal with them the way they dealt with the Wobblies way back when.

Yes, I wrote it. Revolutionaries and traitors deserve this type of response. And before anyone says "the Founders were Revolutionaries" I disagree. They were factionalists. There is an important difference. These current Revolutionaries are not a simple faction, wanting to have more of a franchise, they want to upend the system completely including the destruction of The Constitution.

All who are sworn to uphold The Constitution are mandated by their oaths to take strong action.

Ahh, you are correct. Sorry , i am dyslexic and have some trouble when viewing words. It takes me forever to write as i need to go back and check my spelling. I would make a terrible novelist.

So anyway, it is too bad Jean Quan isnt figure skater. It would given her other skills and perseverance.

She'd have excellent balance. That's for sure.

Proof of this claim? "they want to upend the system completely including the destruction of The Constitution."

Also, I disagree with your disagreement. The founders of this country were indeed revolutionaries and not simply factionalists at all.

Walked by that on the way to class on Monday. Unreal. Now they have to deface the lake?

Yes, they want to do to Lake Merritt what they did to Frank Ogawa Plaza.

Based on their track record, they are going to defacate, urninate and dump garbage of all manner into one of our most iconic and important sites that is a source of civic pride for all Oaklanders. The lake will become a soup of toxic waste.

I think this might be the straw that breaks the camel's back when it comes to our citizens tolerance level of these Occupiers.
