This is extremely interesting and its no surprise that this is starting in the Bay Area.

Investing in local food growers and restaurants could transcend into other kinds of small businesses.

Hmm...I've come up with a plan lately simply to create jobs...basically create a brewery "commune" of sorts somewhere with cheap land and provide housing for workers and a low but guaranteed salary to workers, like $20,000 a year. Doesn't have to be a brewery, just something interesting and manufacturing-ish that would create a couple dozen jobs or so. But I've been wondering how you'd get investment funding to set up something like that, I certainly don't have any money. We have so many high-wage industries, especially in the Bay Area, that are very prosperous but don't really create very many jobs at all and definitely don't create any middle-income jobs. I guess this sort of event is where you could get funding for something like this.

If anyone wants to use my idea then go for it, I certainly don't have the money or the energy to do something like that. I'd just like to see more jobs created and I think it would be an interesting thing to try if you had the funding.

Medicinal marijuana crop will do the job. Seen it done many times. Low input cost, big payoff, all legal.
