Hi everyone. I posted a few weeks ago a couple of threads regarding living on Twin Peaks and other neighborhoods when my family and I move to SF. I got so many great suggestions and points of view from so many helpful people.

So I just wanted to say thanks and also let you know we visited this weekend and rented a house in Glen Park. It's right off Chenery near the little "village." Parking was a must for us, so as many of you said, Noe was out--plus, like you warned, it seemed really pricey for the quality of what we were seeing. In Glen Park we were able to get a single-family house with parking for two cars. And the commute is great for when my husband has to get to Palo Alto.

I think we made the right decision. It feels like a great place for our two young children. At least I hope we made the right decision! Thanks again for all your helpful insights--it made searching much easier!

Sounds cool, good luck with everything. Glen Park is a neat little area that you don't hear a lot about compared with say the Mission or Noe Valley.

Just curious, what are you paying for your place? What was the range of rents for a 2 or 3BR house in that area? Was it easy to find? I am looking for a 2BR myself and would appreciate the info.

What an excellent place to live. If I were to do it over again Glen Park would be high on my list.

Good for you!

Was there a lot of competition for your place in Glen Park? (The competition was brutal when I was looking for an apt in the Mission, though I eventually snagged a place.) I've noticed that listings in Glen Park/West Portal seem to stay on Craigslist for weeks, so I'm hoping that's a good sign ...
