I mostly listened in the (pre-internet) 1990s, and after Bernie Ward was gone I noticed a drop in interesting banter. My favorite was Chris Clark, who was on nights either before or after Taliafarro, but I heard he got frustrated enough with the late-night lunatics who called in to quit the business altogether.

I think talk radio is just popular any more.
Have not thought about Rhapsody in Blue Ira for years... always had the hearing aid sponsor... there was also Jim Easan and a few others... I think Ira started with KGO right after WWII.

Always find it odd that two Radio Stations at opposite ends would have the same ownership... KGO and KSFO.

AM was said to be dead before and had a resurgence... will have to see what happens.

I almost always have KGO on in the house, even if Im not paying attention its playing in the background at low volume. Maybe its OCD? I dont know, but even when Im overseas I listen online all the time. Looking back, I have found that this is a habit I formed as a kid in middle school. Falling asleep to the radio(KGO), waking up to it too. This time last year I was in Dubai(what a horrible time I had there) but just as I had done elsewhere I would go online and listen to KGO to keep up on what was going on back home.

Well no more. Im done with KGO unless they return to their old format.
