Hi,

I am looking at a job in the Walnut Creek area that will include commuting to Antioch 2-3 days a week and sometimes to Plesanton.

How is the commute in the morning from the Lafayette/Moraga area to Antioch in the morning? I will usually start work around 8:30am but sometimes earlier like 7:00.

Will I be going against traffic both in the morning and after work? Any input would be appreciated.

Pretty sure that'd put you in the happy reverse commute of things since you'd be going 24 East in the morning, away from Oakland and SF where everyone else is going, and then in the evening you'd be going towards Oakland/SF, which again is away from everyone else.

Caution: Evening may be worse than morning with people going to Oakland/SF for entertainment etc.

Thank you for the reply. Any data on actual commute times? I'm guessing Moraga to Antioch will be like 15 minutes longer since you have to get on the 24 from Moraga. How bad is the fog in the morning on the 4?

It's about 35-40 mins depending on your location in Moraga. You also have to consider that Kaiser Antioch is about 10 mins from highway. Pleasanton will be quicker although 680 south is sometimes busy. Kaiser ASC is about 5 mins off highway. You will always have to worry about accidents/etc. Fog is an issue in the winter about 10-20 days/per year. Leave early and drive slow. How do you like the anesthesia position at Kaiser?

Can you please type with the proper use of capital letters and use punctuation? Your posts are really frustrating to read.

My friend works out in Brentwood and commutes from Moraga and it takes her roughly 45 minutes. Obviously it depends on where in Moraga you'd be coming from vs. where in Lafayette (travel time to Hwy 24) and then how far off the freeway in Antioch you are going. But I'd plan for approx. 45 minutes. You're going against traffic which is great!
