After bugging you guys for some time, I'm finally here - with my family and the cat We ended up renting in Foster City - thanks for all your help! My next job is to find day care, get a license and lease a car - but really glad the apartment is set!

FYI, there's a small Indian (I think it's called Namaste) grocer at the corner of Ralston and El Camino. I live off their somosas.

Welcome.

I don't know what your budget is or what your long-term plans are, but I know that the locals in my area in Berkeley ride around in used cars that were formerly leased vehicles: mostly BMWs, Volvos and such. My landlord mentioned that's where a lot of people get their cars from (just in case buying is a possibility, I'm throwing it out there.)

It definitely is, I just need to figure out how the second hand market works here. Whatever prices I saw online were way too high for second hand cars .. that was a bit weird.
