To be beautiful doesn't mean you necessarily have to be vapid, that's an aimless red herring argument. There is no excuse for laziness.

The truth is, our brains are capable of processing a lot more information via the unconcious. Meaning we *know* alot more than we can consciously recall. How a person takes care of their appearance is a useful shorthand for determining that persons overall personality and quality level. We're right on it more times than we are wrong, which is why we do it.

I have to agree with Baydude. The overall standard of appearance (for both sexes) in the Bay Area hovers between "Goodwill" and "don't give a ****".
