Serious inquiries. Does it take a top notch modeling agency to magically relocate from NYC to get some fine, sophisticated, sexy women to move here?

I think you need to get your eyes checked.

^ Sorry but he's right. The most 'attractive' girls by SF standards don't hold a candle to NYC or even LA. Trust me.

On what "repels" them or otherwise makes it so there so so very few hot women, its a combination of lack of an "image" focused industry (acting, modeling, music etc), radical feminism, and high costs. The general social "coldness" of SF I'm sure contributes to it as well. Cliquishness makes it difficult to build the networks which these types of careers demand.

Because you're in SF.

I'm not a fan of the NYC/LA model type - they're nice to look at, but such a pain in the ass to actually deal with. SF is loaded with great women, but they're all much smarter and cooler than you guys so I'm not surprised you're not attracted to them.

I've seen a huge bump in the number of hot women walking around lately........ of course, they're all wearing Phillies jerseys, that might explain it

What normal young woman wants to be around a bunch of men who are likely gay?

I don't disagree that SF has a significant number of hot women (particularly in areas like the Marina). However, I do agree with a previous poster that it doesn't have the sheer numbers/percentages that you see in NYC/LA or many other cities. I would say that it is for the following reasons:

1- Year round chilly climate (not conducive to sun-bathing, tanning, etc)
2 - Intellectualism - Sure, NYC has it as as well, but they have more of a blend. Often times, intellectual women are not spending a lot of time on themselves, trying to look pretty (yes, there are exceptions to this)
3 - Different standards of cool - In SF, its cool to be a "techy", whereas in places like NYC, LA and others, its cool to be a model.

I cannot relate to the OP.

I dated my wife in SF and my GF prior to her was someone I met in SF.

As a young buck, I focused on The City in my "recruitment" efforts, the burbs were no where near as hot smokin'.

I found that women in SF tended to be slimmer (which is a great human geography riddle to be answered by the astute among us - hint - walk scores) and generally of a more healthy and radiant nature.

Given the hot sticky clime of non Winter NYC, of course women dress in a more revealing manner and feel a greater need to focus on hair, make up and flashy clothing. Here, without the warm season strip down factor, the essentials are more the area of focus (as in, bereft of hiding behind hair, make up and clothes, how truly hot smokin' is she?).

One of the things I love about the SF forum is besides all the typical where should I live threads, we always get some asking about hot girls. An entertaining way to break the monotony LOL
