I bought this table about 17 years ago from a restorer/craftsman company whose workshop was in the part of San Francisco that was on streets with state names. The table was shown at a showroom in the SF Design Center, but doesn't seem to be there now. The unique thing about this table is it is round, but has six leaves of two different sizes to extend round to three different sizes. The leaves are swirled pie shapes, and you spin the table to add the leaves. Anyone recognize the company that made this table?

The part of San Francisco with streets named after states is Potrero Hill. Can't help you with the rest of your question though.

The darker brown is the middle sized leaves. There are larger leaves, which brings the table up to 7' in diameter. If you pull out the leaves the table is 5' in diameter.

1. Usually custom work like that might be signed. I would look very carefully under the table top or under the base to see if there is anything burned, stamped or a label attached identifying the maker. Do you still have the receipt? It might be listed on there.

2. Or, you may want to reach out to:

Museum of Craft and Folk Art

or

MCD - Home

3. There was a store located at 16th and DeHaro, called Craftsman Gallery or something like that. It was a couple doors up from Sally's Cafe (popular breakfast spot). When it first opened it only sold period American Arts and Crafts furniture. She then started show contemporary furniture a year or two later, similar to the piece that you have. Don't know if it was the same place or not. There were several other "modern" furniture places in that area at that time also. Probably 2-3 within a couple of blocks of the Design Center. Some specialized in furnishings for homes, others for offices.
