Can a landlord who rents a home demand entry keys and interior room keys?

Yes -- landlords have the right to access their property. That said, they have to give you advance notice if they want to enter in non-emergency situations. In other words, they can't just let themselves in and wander around just because they feel like it. Not sure what the formal law says, but in general I think our leases have always had a 24-hour advanced notification clause, as well as have always required us to provide keys if we were to change the outer locks.
