I never said there weren't good areas in Oakland. In my much younger years I used to rent an apartment close to College and Bryant. So I'm not sure what your point is.

Why do you ONLY drive in the less desirable areas of town. i mean all the streets you listed are not street or areas that people just stumble upon and drive down on a regular. Unless you live on these streets or work in the industrial area near San Leandro Blvd your not going to just be on these sections of road way.

My point is that you intentionally focus on the negatives parts and your above response proves it. You know large parts of the city are nice but you don't care to mention them unless challenged to do so.

All places where the average housing price is 5x+ higher than in the East Oakland flats - even the better areas like Havenscourt or Maxwell Park.

I was recently in a job interview and a woman in her 20s came back with a pamphlet and said, " Ok here is our "ghetto" pamphlet." Now I will point out the woman and I were roughly the same age so maybe subconsciouly she was tryna make conversation or something I dont know but when I left the interview something clicked in my head

We as a society are not only ok walking past poverty, in the shape of people sleepin in their own ****, we are more than ok with people living and dying in certain communities many of which are born into and influenced by things they have no control over, and these are our fellow Americans but even in a city like San Francisco where so much wealth comes flooding in even in todays economic conditions, people dont care, is it race is it class? Regardless that is probably the most depressing thing to me about San Francisco, that there are so many resources and people just walk by or ignore neighborhoods, The city should award tax credits to companies and individuals who record community service hours with non profit organizations

I dunno why p i s s is a bad word but thats how it came out

Another untrue accusation. I never claimed I ONLY drove down those streets. I was simply pointing out areas where people would drive and get the impression that Oakland is ghetto which was the original point by goldenchild.
