My wife and I just moved to the east bay. Like all resources in the bay area, parking is scarce. I have a "weekend car" en route on a transport and nowhere to put it when it arrives. Ideally I'd like a garage or covered parking of some kind, but any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Living in Piedmont area and would like something fairly close or else it becomes too inconvenient to use. Thanks in advance for the help.

Greg

It is a difficult situation especially if your only alternative is street parking.

The garages listed on Craig's List tend to be rather expensive.

One of my friends rented out his 1920's 12x16 garage for $200 a month before he sold... the guy had a Mazda Miata he only drove weekends or as needed.

I have lost a lot of potential tenants because the offerings did not have a garage.... although most have off street parking... not quite the same as a garage where you can lock the door.

Maybe advertise on Craig's?

Park it on the street in Piedmont, just not under a tree that drops pollen or berries. Even if its a few blocks from your house, should be OK. Very safe (safest in the east bay) and tons of street parking without tons of street cleaning. Disregard my comment if its a collector car and really needs protected storage.....
