Lew Wolf was in attendance at Dodgers stadium for the Giants v Dodgers game last night. What in god's earth is he doing there? Didn't the A's have their own game in the middle of a pennant race?

Even though, I think an MLB team in Vancouver, should be in the NL. Two so and so AL teams 2.5 hours from each other could be a little dicey.

So you think MLB would do better than the NBA did there? In the western US I don't think there are any metropolitan areas around Vancouver's size that have more than one professional sports team out of the four main ones (MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL). I'm just kind of curious to what kind of actual demand there is.

Vancouver Whitecaps average over 20k per match, play at the very nice BC Place on the water downtown, have a history dating back to 1974, and are tied with the alleged "superclub" L.A. Galaxy for a playoff spot. MLS counts in Vancouver.

As for the A's? San Jose wants them and their new stadium for all the downtown rejuvenation reasons various sites in Oakland want them. Seems like DTSJ, with all too many empty storefronts, is in limbo waiting for MLB's response to the territorial rights question, especially since Redevelopment was canned by the governor.

The A's should accept their fate. They are the bay area/No Cal regional team, just like the Angels are the regional team for LA/So Cal. Get a new stadium in Oakland or Freemont already and get on with life.
