Your expenses are going to be more or less the same everywhere, but unless you live in Manhattan triple your rent, that should give you an idea of where your expenses will be.

I don't expect to have a family anytime at all. I live in NY but in Queens. I'm living with friends so my rent is pretty cheap. I'm worried because the jobs I see for entry level accounting in San Francisco is around $15+ an hour. If I find roommates there will that wage be enough money?

On $15 an hour, you'll have to share an apartment with 2 or 3 others, and you won't be in the nicest area -- and even then your rent + utilities will eat up half your take-home pay. But assuming you have no debt or significant other expenses, you should be OK. And if all goes well you should be earning much more within a couple of years.

You'll be fine, entry-level accounting position at a big four pays around $55k/year ($60k entry-level with CPA), which is enough to live comfortably if you have room mates.

I agree with bmw above, I would try to get into one of the big 4. You will work your butt off, but the pay is decent at entry level and there are pretty steady promotions.
