Hi all, I just got a job in downtown Napa and will be moving to the area in a few weeks with my fiance. I fell in love with the town of Petaluma, and am debating on moving there rather than Napa. Can anyone let me know if the morning commute from Petaluma to Napa is ridiculous? It looks like you can cruise straight across on a few smaller roads or take the 101 - 37 - 29 route. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, that would be really helpful! Thanks!

I like Petaluma too. Well, the west side. It's just the right size and quite charming, without being yuppy-ish. When I still lived in the Bay Area, we looked at a couple of homes up there. My husband liked the newer homes on the east side. I preferred the older homes closer to downtown. We had a few debates and during one of them I said, "Look at how boring it is over here, just house after house. The west side is so much cuter. There are sidewalks and trees." He actually replied, " Well, okay...If trees are that important to you!" All I could do was laugh.

Sorry....I don't know about the commute. I can't imagine it would be that bad though. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Take 116 to 121, it isn't that bad, I drive Lakeville to 37 to 101 into Marin every morning, as long as i leave by 6:30, it isn't awful(usually)

Plus, the commute in question would be in the opposite direction. I'm assuming that would make it even more manageable.
