Yes. Last year I watched the air show from the Marina Green and there were tents, some seats, kids entertainment, vendors, etc..for Fleet Week. Not sure how that's gonna with Americas Cup.

Man, I attended Oracle OpenWorld last week and all I have to say is jeez, if I was a local commuting to/from the city I would have been moody all week long.

Not only did they have to close Howard Street, but the sheer volume of people leaving the conference after the exhibition hall closed every day was unbelievable. It was a sea of pedestrians, it was impossible to get a cab, and traffic was just terrible.

Good business for the city of San Francisco though I would guess, especially if you are in the tourism and hospitality industry.

By late afternoon Saturday BART eased up. I thought overall it showed that the transportation system could handle it--crowded, but not collapsing. Not that we'd want to do it every weekend ...!
