Of course anything that is packaged and marketed as "save our parks!" is going to get public support....so I suppose I'm not terribly surprised this passed. But that still does not temper my disgust that our corrupt and mismanaged Rec & Parks department is getting an additional $195M in taxpayer dollars to squander, despite the fact that nearly 1/2 of the $185M approved in the last 2008 Parks bond has not yet even been spent. But again, should we be surprised? This is San Francisco after all. A city of 800k with a budget that exceeds several state budgets - $4.3B in SF general fund expenditures alone for FY2013, and one of the best-funded parks systems in the nation - but somehow that's not enough to adequately maintain our Parks without putting an additional $195M on the credit card in the form of a bond, in addition to the fees Rec & Park already regularly collect.

It just boggles the mind...
