I know we've got the Giants, A's, 49ers and Raiders that usually take up year-round, but as someone new to the Bay Area (specifically Berkeley), is there anywhere in Oakland or San Francisco that is a good place to watch European soccer? I'm talking about something that opens up early on Saturday mornings for those 7am matches on Fox Soccer Channel type of place?

I had a couple of dedicated spots in LA and San Diego, but now that I'm here I can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kezar Pub and Mad Dog in the Fog in SF (Nickie's and Danny Coyles as well); McNally's and Commonwealth Cafe & Pub in Oakland.

Triple Rock Brewery and (maybe) Jupiter's in Berkeley, but most places over there are often college football/basketball first, pro sports second.

Yep, seconding the Englander.

Walkable from BART, too.

Commonwealth on Telgraph in Oakland. True England neighborhood style pub with avid European soccer fans galore.

Everybody is spot on with the East Bay recs. The Commonwealth and The Englander in that order. And that's really it (though I haven't been to McNally's).

There used to be a place in Berkeley proper called Merdian International Sports Cafe on University but that closed. The Starry Plough Pub in South Berkeley on Shattuck is good during World Cup and Euro but not for weekly EPL watching.
