The commute from SR to anywhere South is horrendous from 5 - 10 am and from 3 - 7 pm coming back. It takes me 2 hours to get from SR to Berkeley if there are no accidents.

to downtown SF? Wow...if you were super lucky, no accidents, etc., I would'nt leave Kenwood any later than 5:30 am, 6am if you feel the angels are guiding you! Kenwood is such a beautiful place-but not for SF business. And by going through sonoma to 37 you might pass s-o-m-e of it, on certain days of the week at certain times, but it still will be a hellish ride.

I notice that housing prices seem to drop once you get past novato, and then further once you get to petaluma, I work in film and would be traveling all over the area but not daily, the wife is in banking and can probably score a job almost anywhere. Is petaluma doable? Would it be doable if it were a near daily commute? really do want to stay in north area but we have to be realistic, our budget for a house would be about $350k
