So, they're only doing the north side of the bridge? Too bad, it would look great as a backdrop for night baseball games, too.

Yea, only the north side to my knowledge. It is too bad as it would be neat to see from AT&T and South Beach, and even see it from places south of SF in the East Bay (Alameda, parts of Oakland). But I guess they only wanted to do one side and figured they'd get more bang for the buck on being on that side of town since most of the good bay bridge vantage points are on that side.

You can actually see where the lights are hooked to the vertical cables when riding along the bay bridge now (advisable to do this only as a passenger). You'll notice little black rings where the LEDs hook onto the cables.

Has any seen this yet? I went into the city two or three Fridays ago and they had the lights on. It looked really amazing. But when I went into the city this past Saturday they didn't have them on for some reason. So I guess maybe they were just testing them but I can't wait for them to stay on all the time. I hope they make it permanent as it really lights up the bridge well.

Yeah, I saw it a couple weeks ago (Jan 25th) during the testing of the lights while I awaited a comedy friend who was finishing up at the Punchline. I had known that they were going to do testing that weekend, but forgot about it until I stumbled upon it by being in the area. I was able to take a few long exposure shots with my camera from one of the piers, and thought it looked pretty cool.

Grand lighting is coming on March 5th, so you won't have to wait much longer to see them again.
