But the OP isn't talking about stopping there. They are talking about going to work every day.

One of the posters here mentions you should avoid carrying a briefcase or laptop and you'll be o.k. riding the Muni.

Great. Ride public transportation and hope the neighborhood thugs leave you alone. (Reminds me of a guy I knew from Detroit who always carried a twenty dollar bill to hand over the case he got robbed.)

Anyway, if the OP drives to work they should be fine.

So you base your opinion on another member's with no actual experience there? That's smart lol.

I've been told many times that nowhere in Oakland is safe. Should I now tell people, if you go anywhere in Oakland, there is a 50/50 chance you'll come back in a body bag?

I do think using public transportation would be a hassle because it is a bit isolated. I also wouldn't recommend walking the streets late at night with a briefcase. I give you that.

and work ends before 7pm.
just avoid public transportation if you have to carry a briefcase/laptop bag.

I wouldn't walk in that area late at night with or without a briefcase.

Forget it.
Working there isn't that bad but I wouldn't move there. It's a pretty funky part of town. Luckily MUNI goes there. Just get a place in another part of the city and take MUNI to work.

I know where the projects are. It's a lot more than one block away (Jennings and W Point).

Well, the secret seems to be out, don't it...
