In the afternoon it typically takes about 45-50. (Giants /49ers games can make it bad from what I hear though.) A little backup at the tunnel and a little backup at the Maze, but you learn the tricks to speed that up.

FYI, I am 25 and I lived in Walnut Creek for my first two years out of college. WC is very quiet and suburban. I was not a fan of the nightlife scene in WC. Was kinda trashy for my liking.
Wait, what's wrong with trashy ? . I lived in WC for 7 years, and I didn't find the nightlife trashy, maybe a little snooty, but I'm used to that, coming from NYC.

It's a little snooty, a little trashy, a little grown up frat boy

There is probably not enough skinny jeans, tattoos, "vintage" clothing, and PBR/IPA for some. It's "too mainstream" maaannn!

Also I'm not sure what the hell is "snooty" about places like Stadium Pub, Dan's, Tiki Tom's, and Mr Luckys; those places are the opposite of "snooty".

thanks everyone for the feedback. I really appreciate it. If I do look into Rockridge BART area, should i live north or south of Rockridge BART? Which would be the ideal safer area to walk to the BART?

Makes no difference. It is all safe. The line is more like the west side. Around Shattuck. Basically anything above the lake north to Berkeley is fine to walk around at night.

There is not a difference. Closer to Broadway, it can be a little congested. It is all pretty much the same. It is all pretty similar from Piedmont Ave to Rockridge. Temescal feels more "hipster."
