So I'm sure we all know about the limo tragedy already, but the only interview has been from the driver who made it seem like he did all he could to help. Now the victim who was hitting the window for help saying smoke, speaks out to CNN.

I will excuse the misunderstanding about "can I smoke."

Beyond that, anything is fair game in terms of serious inquiry.

Let's just say, beyond those who are natural born (or self developed) heroes, there is a strong instinct of self preservation especially in the face of explosively spreading flames.

So basically he might be a less than heroic person, but did he didn't really do anything illegal by not being as proactive in helping the others as we would have liked. As far as I know, limo drivers are not like sworn public safety persons who must intervene to save human life, or are they? I dunno.

That said, probably not his finest hour by my estimation, but I am in no position to judge seeing as I how I don't know exactly how I might react in a similar situation.

In any event, so sad.

Listen, we weren't there. We don't know the circumstance. Maybe he froze due to shock or fear---I can't say, and really neither can you.

I saw a report somewhere that he didn't want to stop because he was on the San Mateo Bridge and there were no stopping lanes. I tell you what. If my car is on fire, I will not keep driving hoping it goes out. I'm getting out of that vehicle!

He didn't want to stop it because it wasn't his half of the car that was on fire! He could ignore it and keep driving. For a time. Idiot.

This article came out today, the cause is still under investigation. I'm wondering why it is taking so long.
