I mean it's the internet age gang ... someone can easily go online and see these winter horror stories are false ... Boston and the beaches surrounding it do get tons of tourists in the supposedly brutal summers ... and SF is indeed relatively chilly and foggy during the summer.
Its not an "Internet age thing"... I lived there in the late 90's when the Internet was barely happening at that point and guess what? I have PLENTY of weather horror stories from Boston. I can personally without a doubt in my mind tell anyone who asks me that indeed, the weather in Boston and surrounding area is NOT what anyone would consider great for perhaps 9 months of the year.

I suppose an easy way to settle this silly debate, which frankly should have never been one, is that:

1: Does SF get snow? No. Does Boston Yes.
2: Does SF have months of 90+ degree weather? No. Does Boston? Yes.

See? That's easy!

Also- I can also tell you and others that no, going to the beach was not a big thing to do in Boston. If you wanted to do that you went either to Maine or the Jersey Shore.

I guess I'm just confused about where this weather thing came from. There is no debate here. I lived in Boston and I'm saying it once more after my personal experience: The weather is Awful. That shouldn't detract from the fact that Boston is a nice city and there are many aspects to it that makes it a great place to go. But weather is most definitely not one of its selling points.
