We could easily move there and buy a home, but I work in the technology industry, so proximity to Silicon Valley is important to me right now. If this was not the case, my wife and I would have moved there or Danville, a long time ago.

This breaks the rules but I'd rather live in the Sierra Foothills ( Auburn, Grass Valley, Nevada City etc) than anywhere in the Bay Area. Then again- no jobs up there.

Where the heck is LaMorinda anyway, and what makes it so nice as well as a fine place to live?

It's three small adjoining towns (Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda). They're very safe, have great weather, fantastic schools, a great community spirit, and the towns are surrounded by oak woodlands and hills where you'll often see deer, coyote, wild turkey, out and about. They're also very close to more urban spots like Berkeley/Oakland/SF

Danville is a cool town also. Used to go to a Chinese restaurant in Danville, and just driving around, I loved that neighborhood. BUT, when I moved to the Bay Area from NYC, I didn't have a car, so needed something close to the BART. Wound up 3 blocks from the BART in Walnut Creek, and 3 blocks from Downtown WC. Talk about convenient, I had a 3 minute walk to Target, lol.

Here you go:

San Francisco Raffle to Benefit Yerba Buena Center For The Arts

I think I would choose Berkeley. I like the university vibe and all the stuff to do.

Alameda, Piedmont, or Walnut Creek.

If I didn't have to worry about schools, I'd prefer Sequyoah Heights, Sheffield Village, Woodminster, Claremont.

Out there on Treasure Island. In a second..

Of course I'm kidding.

In Pacific Heights, enjoying my big backyard would be the obvious answer..

C'mon now..
