Ttocs99--that's great to hear! Yes, I like the idea of returning home to to summer evenings, where you'd want to take a walk, go for a drink etc. I'm sure there's a lot in the surrounding towns (Concord, Pleasant Hill, Danville) worth exploring as well.

I'm a big fan of both Pleasant Hill and Danville, both wonderful towns. Concord can be sketchy, I know there are some really nice parts, and I've been to Concord's downtown area, which seemed nice, but the areas near Costco (though I went all the time) seem a little scary. I think the parts of Concord near Walnut Creek are pretty nice too. Lots of choices, I'm partial because I fell in love with Walnut Creek immediately, especially where I was and the convenience factor, I didn't have a car when I moved there, but I was so close to BART and all the stores in downtown WC, I didn't need one. Hell, Target was pretty much across the street from me !

One great thing about the Bay Area is that those summer evenings tend to last through November! Not the heat, but pleasant summer days and evenings, when it's warm enough that you can still take a swim after work, or stroll around the local shopping area and hang out. November's one of my favorite times of year around the Bay.

Agreed Ruth, absolutely love that time of year in the Bay Area. When I was out in SF last week, it was 90 degrees + in NYC, and the worst part of that is the humidity AND, it doesn't cool off at night like it does in the Bay Area, I was so happy to be away from NYC last week. When I lived in WC and it was 90 degrees during the day, I could always count on it cooling off at night. In NYC, one day last week it was 99 degrees, and at 9pm it was still 90 degrees.
