I would say the amount of badmouthing stockton is like biased most people who badmouth stockton have little experience of the town.It actually is a nice place to live you have crime like anywhere else but crime tends to follow those who are not all soo innocent. I have never been a victim of violent crime yea my car got broken into but i left it parked in the street over night and forgot the radio face plate was on so it was stolen. Anyways stockton is not a bad drive to sf for the weekend parties at night in the clubs.
Granted, I only lived in Stockton for 3 years... but I was a pizza delivery-girl for 2 of those years, and saw PLENTY of the town! I don't know Sacramento well enough to compare, so I wasn't actually recommending south Sac - in fact, I said quite clearly they'd have to ask somebody else. But regardless of whether Sacramento is any better, Stockton just wasn't my cup of tea. Sorry!

Or am I delusional to think that any large city other than Sacramento is feasible? Please share some of your local expertise! Thanks!

Stick to your Bart idea, traffic of cars can be a hellish commute, Dublin would be ok too, because it also has bart!

Default wow.

That kind of drive from work to home will wreck any type of social life you are hoping to get out of being in SF. I think SAC has a large gay population and with the current housing problems your buck will go along way. SF is however a total lifestyle and if you can find a job there you will have some fun.
