It's pretty special. I'd never been until I moved to JSL. Chinatown has a lot of great Vietnamese and Chinese places, but not many good Thai places (Thai food is probably my favorite cuisine besides Italian). So, I asked around and to find a place that that had great curry dishes and eventually was led to Battambang. They have EXCEPTIONAL service and really treats you like family, and their curry dishes are superb.

They do, the women there is really nice I forgot her name she told me once. Another really good Cambodian spot is Phnom Penn House. It's on 8th Street in Chinatown. The food is hella good. Better than Battambang IMO. They are also very nice, run by a family, I get take out a lot there and I go in sit down, they offer me tea and I talk with the family. Very nice people. Gets packed though. Check it out sometime.

I prefer the 38th Ave location to the Chinatown location but either one is good.

I only went to Soi4 once and the food was definitely pretty amazing. It's more expensive than your usual Thai place but it's still pretty cheap considering how fancy the place looks and how good the food is. Definitely a good first or second date kind of place. Once you've been dating for a while you can get away with slumming it at Sabuy Sabuy.

Do you like food, music, art, design, cocktails, spirits, wine or beer? Then go to Duende. Easily my favorite place in Oakland.

I've heard mixed reviews about the food but love the bodega for coffee.

I am on my phone, please forgive the typos.

I'd pay five bucks, if it could get me a decent slice of pizza in oakland, eville, bezerkley.

Thank god for san leandro. Even the asians make good pizza in san leandro.
