The 49ers should have stayed north because they did not struggle for support there, but that doesn't make AutomatonDave's assessment of the valley more enlightening or original in any way.

Meanwhile, Montreal is getting a lot of press lately as MLB's stall tactics for both Oakland and San Jose have become too transparent. In the end, I think both sides will be turned off this archaic game and the Giants will have a fat TV contract tho spend on mediocre free agent outfielders and more former A's pitchers.

Montreal is NOT getting an MLB team again. You can believe it all you want, but LA has a better chance of hosting an NFL team again than Montreal has regaining an MLB team.

As of right now, the average oakland home game is drawing a little more than half that of the giants.

In other words, they are improving.LOL!!!!

Must be the uptick in give away prmotions and displaced sf hipsters now living in oakland.

But hey, that's the A's. Half empty stadium in may, full stadium in october.

Get back to us when the A's have a new stadium on the water. Otherwise, compare attendance to when the vaGiants were playing in the Stick.

It's the shiny stadium that is the draw.

Well last time I checked there is not a deal for a new water front stadium, so how long a wait are we talking?

Hell, sacramento figured out how to build a new venue, before oakland.

Even with a new stadium, that does not mean new fans will flock there.

How's the new stadium working out for miami??? Thought so.

The reality is the bay area is like denver, in that it is an over saturated sports market, unable to support all of the teams.

What ever fans oakland would gain, would be equally lost by higher prices. As most of oaklands casual fans (which is more or less the whole fan base)go there because it is cheap.

In short, oakland will always be in the giants rear view mirror.

Lew Wolff, appearing on Bloomberg's "Market Makers" show, said the A's are "having a good conversation with the authorities in Oakland" on a 10-year lease that he said should be completed in the "next couple of weeks."
A's close to signing 10-year lease to remain in Oakland - Inside Bay Area

So please get to talking about a stadium on the waterfront.

Exactly, lol. But most Giants fans memories start in 2010, or for the "hardcore" fans in 2000. The few Giants fans that actually watched baseball games at the Stick know what a new stadium can do for the team, well except the myopic douchebag types.

Wolff: We'd be open to Oakland ballpark site | News

Quote:
PD: Do you still want only San Jose?

Wolff: No. What we'd like to do is have a new venue in order to have a better fan experience. We have tried, we think — although other people may not agree — in Oakland, Fremont and San Jose, and we're willing to continue looking at those areas.

PD: Is Oakland one of your options?

Wolff: We haven't closed the door on anything.
Okay, so now the CITY NEEDS TO GET ON THIS.

And I haven't seen this rendering before-nice

related to this^, I just looked it up and the most recent renderings for a potential Raiders' stadium at Coliseum City shows a retractable roof which would be very cool. I actually prefer the design above to Levi's Stadium, by quite a bit actually.
