I just have so much trouble imagining something like Coliseum City ever coming to full fruition just based on how industrial and ghetto the area around it is. I'm just surprised Wolf thinks CC is a more viable option than something along the water closer to downtown.

yeah, his view is so contrary to the trend as far as most other new ballparks.

Personally I think the entire Coliseum City project would be better in Downtown around Jack London Square--that would be unbelievable.

Except there's no money for that. And even if there was, it would be a giant waste of money as weather rarely impacts raider games and the city would probably get 0-1 other events a year that need a roofed NFL stadium.

I didn't say it was prudent, cost efficient or necessary-only that I like it.

Yeah, they will only be able to draw business to the area which will be open for gamedays and nothing else, which won't make it much different from what it is now. The idea that a heavily-industrial area in East Oakland will transform into what they have in central Baltimore and Cleveland is a joke (like CC itself). Wolff is just blowing smoke because he knows CC isn't viable while Howard Terminal, or another central Oakland ballpark, is.
