More like there is an untapped market of casual fans who would come to a nice stadium.

Many hardcores have boycotted the team because of Wolff's intransigence on where he wants or doesn't want to build a stadium.

I'd be there with a conveniently located new stadium. With tasty food

Maybe when the Giants have 4 World series titles they'll have a draw other than a nice stadium by the bay. Not a bad seat in the house, and $12 beer is better than a winner I guess?

Really, Monty? "Huge"? He's only now mentioning CC because the Howard Terminal site is so viable (apparently with investors who would back it and relieve him of his ownership of the A's). His philosophy is still San-Jose-or-bust.

Lew Wolff became an owner of the A's for the sole purpose of moving them to San Jose. Until we see some kind of serious commitment from him, I wouldn't get too excited about these little articles saying he has some sort of renewed interest in building at any Oakland site.

First he said he wanted to build along San Leandro Street on land occupied by existing warehouses, much to the delight of fans. However, he knew - and so did everyone else - that it would be a very difficult process to get rid of those businesses via eminent domain. He more recently said he thought a new stadium should be in a Downtown (though he didn't specify Downtown Oakland or San Jose), which again got fans excited that he was finally willing to build in Oakland. Then, we hear nothing from him again until now, where he's saying he has a renewed interest in the Coliseum site.

Any A's fan that believes this man's words with no action are gullible. We should not be hanging on to his every word like puppets on a string. Why should we? He's been an owner for almost nine years yet nothing's changed.

Yes, it is H-U-G-E because he hasn't publically acknowledged Oakland having a viable site in years. So you can downplay to yourself if you like and I already acknowledged that this is pure speculation until we get something concrete, but you aren't raining on my 'huge' parade.
