Yeah, in all reality this wasn't to spite the 49'ers fans, it was to give folks who live "locally" (and I use the term broadly, as apparently even if you lived in Alberta, Canada, you could get a ticket theoretically) a shot at the game. And it's done elsewhere too.

Me, I don't care about hand-egg. I'm a football (or what you Americans stubbornly call "soccer") fan.

Default Those Numbers Seem Right

The Seahawks have about 62,000 season ticket holders--they all buy the maximum number of playoff tickets they're each alloted, so with a 68,000 seat stadium, that's not that many tickets to be sold really. Most of the remaining ones are still bought up by scalpers who flood the site right when they go on sale.

Most people though no matter what state they're in, have little shot at buying tickets to a Seahawks playoff game right when they go on sale... I'll just be rooting for the 49ers at a local bar next week.
Deezus,

Your information seems consistent with what I've read elsewhere. For any home teams who have sold out and have season ticket holders leaving such a small percentage of the seats available, would it be different? Basically, isn't it next to impossible to get a seat if your team is playing in the other team's city? At least that was how it worked in the NBA.

Good luck to both teams. It should be a great game!
