All my years living here i never remember this lack of rain to this extent. I honestly cant even think of the last time it rained two days in a row here. Maybe back in early October?

I cant recall it being so dry for so long. I feel guilty for loving this 70 degree weather in January.

No, this is dry weather spell is very unusual. I drove down the 5 freeway to LA this Christmas and I had never seen the land so parched dry, it wasn't just brown colored- it was almost white like dust.

I miss the rain!

I feel I've seen it like this in Southern CA in winter maybe once or twice in 9 years there, but not Northern. This is bizarre. I don't recall ever seeing fire warnings in winter in Northern Ca either. I hope it starts raining soon and we are just having a delayed rainy season.

As much as I love warm and sunny weather, we need the rain badly. This is not typical at all. By now the the eastern hills are typically green and the higher peaks (Mt. Hamilton, Mt. Diablo, etc.) usually have received snow. According to this upcoming's weather forecast, we could be seeing temps upward of 70 degrees this week! This is definitely not normal for winter in the Bay Area.

I've lived here for about 4.5 months and I can count the times it's rained on one hand (3...I don't even need a thumb). Before moving here I thought the Bay Area had the greatest weather on earth, but it turned out to be even better. But, considering the ill-effects of prolonged drought, I would say that I prefer some rain (Monday-Thursday please).

2013 was the driest year since record-keeping began.

I feel like when I was a kid in San Jose it never rained. I think there was a period in the mid to late 80s that was super dry. I remember a ton of discussion around conservation.

I remember well the 1975-76 season when the rainfall was just under 8" for the year. I was working at EBMUD in Oakland and had a lot of overtime working on the drought restrictions and water rationing program. I hope you get some rain, and lots of snow in the mountains soon so the area doesn't have to go through that again.
