i am in need of help my family was military and i got transplanted in VA i want to move back to the bay area but im a tight financially and on disablity and one of the reasons i need to move is the climate here is part of my medical problems...that and i just constantly dream of going back where im from.

i dont mind starting at the bottom if need be til i figure out what im gonna do but i want to go back and ill take any and all advice / help i can get...

there are just nothing here to make up for the crap weather no incentives at all other than the pretty mountains.i need to move back to where i can agree with the climate and maybe have some options in life as far as what i can do as far as opportunity in what little of my life i have left and want to really enjoy.

staying here is not a option the climate goes from 110 degrees in summer to 0 in the winter on top of the great southern humidity its just not agreeing with me im tired of living this way and dreaming about the bay area
the time has come so please if someone could grant me some knowledge and advice i would be forever grateful.

i mean honestly it doesnt make sense to move but this place is really terrible and i want out and to go back where im from. ill do what i have to to make it work. yes its that bad for me here.

Hopefully you've been saving in Virginia because you should check real estate prices on redfin and rentals on craigslist.

I know someone that comfortably lived in the bay area on social security by renting a room in el cerrito near the bart line. I recommend this.

Exactly. OP, maybe share roughly how much you've saved up. And what do you think your budget would be? I realize you don't have a job yet but you can at least look at apartment listings to get an idea of how much you need to make.

Yes el cerrito is a safe area too. You're looking in the $500-$550 range. There is also a really large cheap grocery store there so you don't need any sort of car. I think you get $910-$930 in social security benefits in the bay area, but you may want to double check. El Cerrito also has good air for your condition.

OP can't have a job. He/she's on social security for a reason. Its doable, OP.
