Hi Everyone,

I will be relocating to SF in a few months and really like the Sausalito area. Any suggestions for condos/apartment buildings to look into? I am learning there are pros and cons with each area, but would really appreciate a first hand opinion.

I can only be about 10-12 miles from AT&T park. I'm looking for the typical: nice view, nature, safe/secure, spacious, gym, walking to coffee/groceries. Budget $2,000 - $2,500.

Thanks in advance - appreciate any guidance!

It has always been my dream to live in Sausalito, just an amazing place. While researching, there are tons of listings online, on Craig's List, etc. Here's an example of what you'd find. Me personally, I'd love to live as close to downtown as possible, though I'm sure that's incredibly expensive.

The proximity to AT&T Park thing is throwing me a little. Sausalito is within your mileage consideration, but is likely about 45 minutes to an hour from AT&T, with any kind of traffic. Even taking the ferry wouldn't save you much time. Alameda might be a better choice on this one point, though it lacks some of the charm of Sausalito.

Alameda is much more affordable, offers a bit more accessible lifestyle (community vs. tourist destination), is just as safe and separated from negative urban issues, while being connected to the City, and is about 20 minutes closer to many top points of interest in SF.
