Thank you so much everyone for the guidance!!

I was surfing for apartments over the weekend, I felt Oakland is pretty close (less commute to work).. any suggestion on specific apartments that are in walking distance to BART/Public transportation to SF downtown having good/safe community..

Thank you again!

I live in Walnut Creek and my husband travels to SF for work on Bart. It takes him 1 hour and I drop him off at Bart. Parking fills up before 7:00a at WC station, Lafayette station 7:30a.

Our 3 bd, 2.5 ba house is renting for $4500 and we've been on the waitlist for BART parking for over 4 years. We're about 900 ppl down the waitlist now. Started out at 3700.

Full time M-F daycare at a high quality center is $1550/mo for 3-4 year old. $1600 for 2-3 year old. 1800/month for infants.

Checkout Springhouse Apartments in Pleasanton; however, your budget of $1,200 isn't even close to what a 1/1 will cost you in the East Bay. When I lived there in 2008 a 1/1 was $1,500 per month. I can't imagine what it is now (nine years later). I first lived in Hacienda Commons and my 600 sq foot junior one bedroom was $1,200 in 2006.

Yeah, kind of tight budget.. i am moving there on 90K salary and my wife isn't working.. so if I extend to $1500 to $1800 (max) for 1Bed/1Bath will i get any close by location (around 30mins travel)?

Also, will there be a parking facility if i get an apartment which is few miles away from BART station?
Yes, for $1800 you can find something in the east bay. IMO you need to talk to your wife about getting a job, too.

This thread is over 3 years old. I'm sure the OP has reached a decision by this point.

I hate it when that happens! I see it's a new member who revived the thread today.

I agree, it is very annoying, I wish they made a post un replyable after 6 months or so, except for the OPs.
