Hi-

I need a small 2 BR house , in the range of $ 1500 /M in any area that is :

- connected to San Fra with any regular rail / Metro service

- within 45 minutes or 1 hour from the city

- Safe

Can I find something like that ( house not apartment )

Ah. The old "1)safe, 2)cheap, and 3)close to SF" question again, but with the added wrinkle that it must be a house and not an apartment.

No. I don't think you'll find that combination unless you have a time machine to go back to 1992.

That's gonna be tough but you can try looking into Martinez, you might find some older 2-br bungalows in town for around that much. You're about a 10-15 min drive to North Concord/Martinez BART

I think since there is very little available anyway you can start by asking about neighborhoods were the houses are listed. Like this:

Is Pittsburg safe?
Is Hayward safe?
Is San Leandro safe?
Is East Oakland safe?
Is Richmond safe?

And see where you get a positive responses.
On CL(Craigslist) there is no where else you can find the first 3 requirements, and you will still need to drive or bike to the station, if you were hoping to not do that you're out of options, unfortunately.

Look in the East Bay, that is probably your best bet.
