5. You're pretty much priced out of SF, unless you don't mind either a really tiny place (studio) in a sketchy area, or a basement dungeon in a boring foggy area.
6. I would ride my motorcycle, but I'm weird that way.
It all depends where in Oakland your job is, and whether they pay for parking. If it's within a few blocks of either of the downtown BART stations (12th or 19th), then BART is probably the best way to go, unless you don't mind sitting in lots of westbound evening traffic jams, and paying for tolls.
7. The Bay Club in SF is a very nice, and suitably expensive, gym. But if your job is in Oakland, it won't be convenient at all, unless you wind up living in Telegraph Hill (which you won't, unless you have roommates).

It all depends where in Oakland your job is, and whether they pay for parking. If it's within a few blocks of either of the downtown BART stations (12th or 19th), then BART is probably the best way to go, unless you don't mind sitting in lots of westbound evening traffic jams, and paying for tolls.
