Unfortunately, your personal definition of what constitutes a city doesn't trump government definitions that have been well-established, documented, and widely accepted.

Oh yea, I'm totally going to believe what the oakland government tells me. Yup, no credibility issues there.

Oh ok. I guess we should all start ignoring newspapers, books, magazines, street signs, and anything else that's mistakenly labeled Oakland as a 'city' for all these years.

Chicaga, is a medium sized city, philly is a medium sized city. Sf is a small city. Oakland is a large town, a commuter town at that. There is nothing city about oakland. Or sac or san jose for that matter.
You're the only person I've ever heard call Chicago a medium sized city... Seriously lol. Just because its not New York doesn't make it "medium". And Oakland is considerably more urban than either Sac or San Jose period along with pretty much anywhere in California not named SF or LA.

That's not saying much. They don't call it the town for nothing.

"The Town" is more yin-yang to SF being "the City" than a denotation of size. Chicago was commonly known as Chitown two decades ago, does the same logic apply? lol.

Chi town is a term used by tourists and hip hop types. Same as frisco. Oakland is a town. To see people claim it is a real city is funny. Hey tracy is a city too, the gooberment even says so. LULZ

I know you're bored/trolling, but I honestly thought you were smart enough to know the difference between a city like Oakland- one that has an international airport, one of the largest shipping ports in the country, two professional sports teams, an fifty different neighborhoods- and a city like Tracy. I guess I was wrong. Oh well, it certainly explains your narrow/limited views on so many things.
