Craigslist seems pretty awful, I don't want to live with people in their 30s...

Back when I was in college I used a place called Roommate Referral. I think they became roommate.com. You could also go to some of the colleges in town. They'll have housing boards where you can place a notice or read others that have been posted depending on if you're renting out the room or looking to rent.

Ah yes! Thanks Imrandy for reminding me of "Roommate Referral"! The place sure brings back memories. It used to be located in this little room off of Haight St. waaay back- 90's. I doubt it's still there, however. The place was crammed full of binders with people's bio's and preferences. People would describe everything they wanted or disliked in a roomate from drug use to whether they liked piercings or not! It worked out well as a dating service as well!

Is that too young or too old? I found my last 2 roommates through craigslist, but one is 31 years old, and the other is 22... they've both worked out great, so I can't complain! It probably is the best way, but there are a few others - most cater to the 20-30 crowd, though, so you might have a hard time finder older roomies. I did join this one site, called meetup.com, which has some good connections... you might give it a try!
