Well since we're only judging by your personal barometer, I suppose we should throw all critical thinking out of the window. The claim about the prince of Dubai was enough to make anyone with sense who gave her a vote to wear a bag over their head the rest of her term.

Yeah you can look at critical thinking but I look at the state of the city--and we're actually doing fairly well these days.

So yeah...

Im not seeing how this relates to her job performance. Not one bit.

She wasnt drunk or high, no one died or was seriously hurt and it was an accident.

So what exactly is the crisis here?
Monty, you and I agree nearly 99% of the time on most things, but I can't fathom why you would ever defend Quan. She's just terrible.

But it's more in spite of her than because of her. It's not because of her the economy is doing better. That's why there's more money.

She's not a complete failure though. The complete failure was Ron Dellums.

Ron Dellums was completely useless. But now we are closing in on 8 years of subpar city leadership.

Looks like the story is getting worse. Quan hasn't provided proof of insurance, and the tags were expired on the car.

Seriously, how hard is it to wrap up the insurance info. I was expecting the article to conclude "the Chron has confirmed, now the victim has insurance." Instead there were a zillion more quotes about who's responsibility it was to make sure the car was properly registered.

Quan didn't give proof of insurance after wreck - SFGate

Quote:
Kelly said Quan had, as of Monday, not provided insurance information to Lovely or her insurance company.

"My client was injured in the accident and has been off work by doctor's orders since the accident," Kelly said. "She is a working mother and missing work is a real hardship to her family. She is also incurring medical bills and her car sits in a shop awaiting repairs."

Kelly said he sent a letter to Quan early last week asking for details about her insurance coverage. The mayor said she had receivedthe letter.

"I gave their letter to our lawyer," she said.
Pick up the phone and call the lady Jean Quan! Get it handled instead of passing the buck.*

*This is why I am no Jean Quan fan. Simple stuff like this doesn't get handled. How can we ensure the big stuff gets handled?

It's almost comical how badly she's botched her mayorship. Almost.

This was pretty funny though (from the comments):

Totally being judgmental here but Quan does not look like shes the mayoral type. She looks more like shes supposed to be wheeling a cart around the city looking for plastic bottles and cans.

Ouch!

The only reason Quan is an improvement over Dellums is that at least she is visible around the town. Unfortunately that's balanced with invisibility when it is time to make decisions on real issues or when it is time to deal with a crisis.

Yeah, if she was invisible, you'd have less of a chance to see her coming and get out of the way before she runs over you.
