There should be a way of persuading organizers to include some cautionary language in their publicity for the event. An OP-Ed piece could be about the need for that. At least the guy wouldn't have died an early death in vain.
No mention of a death in the Centurion event in any open water website or any place else. Maybe the paramedics revived him and transported him?

He was not revived at transport and had a breathing tube without a pulse. They may have shocked him back into a rhythm on the way to the hospital... and as said the cold water is his friend. We do get people "back" from these events however it is frequently the case that anoxia to the brain is a life life reality. Once in a great while they come all the way back. Hospitals are very good at restoring life....even when technically death has occurred. Hope still. If he does make it, I would be very very happy.

There are print records of many swimmers dying in previous years. I can only guess that he was transported and his status is protected information which is as it should be.

Event organizers appear to be clueless. Their post on the competition results says that everyone made it, everyone completed the swim. https://waterworldswim.com/ I don't know how they could miss a guy being pulled out of the water, and all the subsequent activity surrounding him that you two describe. I'm really not impressed with this organization.

Clueless would be a generous description.

He had the ankle bracelet ID that everyone had.

His family was there at the event and it was an event rep who came to the police with his name.

Not sure what if anything to deduce. I sure know I gave CPR to someone.

Wow. This sounds like it. Good sleuthing! RIP to Tom Allen. His name isn't on the list, but there are several missing numbers from the list. It skips from 7 to 11 or 12.

Well, this thread has had some unexpected twists and turns, eh? Considering it started out as a simple inquiry about popular nightspots.

Interesting. I wonder why they did not publish this and that "everyone finished".

This was the man. My family heard his wife calling his name when we were providing CPR. Rest In Peace.
