So people aren't allowed to leave the suburbs and live a more exciting life if they want to? And then when they move, they're not allowed to like the very urban things that drew them to there in the first place?

Wow. I guess that means people shouldn't be allowed to travel to foreign countries either.

I don't believe I commented on what people are allowed to do. Logan asked me a question, and I answered. Not that hard to comprehend.

Sorry, you just HATE people who move from the suburbs to enjoy urban life. Makes total sense. You have a very warped world view. No wonder your posts are so angry and negative all the time.

I could see a similar incident like that happening in the fruitvale in the next 5 years.
It hasn't happened in my neighborhood, but mine isn't one that has experienced hyper-gentrification. The
International corridor and perhaps the Dimond are most at risk. But there seems to be a lot more will in Oakland for it not to happen.

What is a suburban yupster?

What makes someone a true "urbanite"?

LOL, will has nothing to do with it. Though your attempt to (yet again) make Oakland seem larger than life is duly noted.

Like Chicago's Irish, the Bay's Chinese are the only ones who's neighborhoods do not have to worry about being gentrified.

And that is strictly a function of political corruption.

Will does not help you anywhere, just ask the West Oakland natives who call Stockton home.

Gentrification in Oakland depends on where people who work and play in SF will go next.

Hyper gentrification has not happened at all, because tech companies and start ups do not want to be in Oakland.

Yet.
