First off, I hate screaming kids at stores and violence is not the answer and the mom was definitely in the wrong for that, but after watching the story, I dont care for this "victim's" disposition at all and get the inclination that she was probably much more aggresive than she is claiming. She admits this is not the first time confronting the parents of screaming children, then she admitted telling the mother to go to hell and then after all is said and done, then she implies that her right to speak her mind gives her license to go around policing people and being rude is who she is, to heck with common sense.

Well Ms. Thing, sometimes acting like that gets us beaten up.

fyi.

It sounds like another 20something mellenial acting obnoxious. It's a shame the mom had to teach the hipster a lesson her own parents should have taught her 15 years ago.

According to the girl, the mother acted bratty first by saying, "Don't tell my child what to do." She should've made sure her child was behaving himself/herself. I don't care how bratty the girl was, don't put your hands on me. I hope this woman is charged and jailed for her crime.

Look at the horrible example she's setting for her. If you don't like what someone says to you, you should beat them up.

Actually, it sounds like the mother has a huge problem with anger, and given the toddler's proclivity to throw a tantrum in a public place, she can't control either her anger or her child. Of course, you'd blame the victim in this case though.

This is exactly why I make sure I have my good headphones on, listening to either music or podcasts while I shop. This way I give no dirty looks, snide comments, etc because I can't even hear them!!!

Only works when you're shopping alone though (unless you and your shopping companion have a headphone agreement haha)

Yes, this is the ideal scenario.

But in this situation, the girl got punched in the face.

How could she have avoided that, is what I want to know.

Again. Two wrongs don't make a right, so blaming the victim isn't the answer here...

Sounds like the 20-year-old was being the biggest brat in this story.

Never said anyone was in the right, but she could have avoided getting punched in the face. Thia wasnt some random attack out of nowhere. Fortunately for her, laws protect the stupid as well as the innocent.

Probably could have avoided it by accepting the fact toddlers have tantrums and dealing with it.

But as the article points out, this is her thing. It's part of her act.

Telling a woman with a kid to go to hell.

She learned that it is not always wise to pick fights with people you don't know.

Hope she's got a dental plan, because the picture suggests it cost here a rooth. LOL!
